Advanced Photoshop Magazine hit up Barton to illustrate the cover of issue #92. Their instructions were to use the word “Type” in a diagonal format using a very earthy, organic typography. Although he’s known for his “retro-futuristic” style, Barton chose to take this opportunity to challenge himself, and demonstrate his artistic diversity. He decided to take the illustration in a direction completely unique to his past work. The goal was to give the impression of a photograph, rather than a 3D illustration, by playing up the organic elements of the piece. Moose!
